We Make Henry Mayo Run
We are the personal care attendants, techs and support staff who make Henry Mayo hospital run. We clean and set wounds, draw blood, move patients, sterilize equipment, take patient scans, monitor cardiac rhythms, keep the hospital’s supplies stocked and information technology running, and more. We are the ones who make it possible for doctors and nurses to do their jobs.
And we are the most underpaid hospital workers in our region. We are losing staff because of the low pay, and when we lose staff, it is our patients who suffer.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we risked our lives to come to work and care for our community — because Henry Mayo is our community hospital. Yet the hospital’s high-paid administrators continue to show how little they value us, refusing to give us wages we can live on.
Now we are standing up and demanding that Henry Mayo’s administrators pay us what we deserve — what we need to live.
